Riley Update . . . PRAYER NEEDED

Riley has been in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) since Friday afternoon. We took her in to get an xray Friday morning after noticing that she was breathing a little funny - turns out that she was slowly developing bronchitis and pneumonia and possibly a staf infection. Her chest xray is showing a good amount of atelectisis in her left lower lung (that means either fluid or collapse). They have her on 8 medications and antibiotics plus they are doing several respiratory treatments with her about every 4 hours. They have also put her on a ventilator to help inflate the left lung. She will probably have to stay in the hospital for at least another week - please join us in praying that she will rest peacefully and not be afraid or in pain.

Initially we thought that she had just caught a little cold - we were worried but thinking it was just a little bump in the road. But now with words like pneumonia and ventilator coming into the mix those are things that the doctors have warned us mean that we are starting down a very difficult road with her. We of course are still believing and trusting that God is in control but it would be a big fat lie to say that we are not a little scared. We are all of a sudden dealing with a very serious, very scary situation with Riley but we also dealing with a very loving, very BIG God. Please join us in praying for healing, strength, and peace for our precious little girl Riley.

Love,
Becca

I cannot imagine how you guys are feeling right now, how heavy your hearts are. My problems over here seem so slight that they are almost silly in comparison to this beautiful, fragile human life taking such a beating. How can something so small take so much? It amazes me constantly. Please know that you are so in my prayers, be selfish in giving your aches to those willing to take the burden away from you (does it work like that?) or maybe get some rest and/or warm meal. Love you guys so much, we are so awed by your never boastful strength.

We pray for your continued perseverance and faith that Riley starts to feel better soon and you can bring her back home.

Your beautiful story has reached farther than you know. I have been praying for Riley and her loving family ever since I read about her precious story and your strong faith. Please post an address or PO Box so that we can all send some financial help your way. I have never met you, but I will forever be touched by your faith in Christ throughout this difficult and cherished time.

Becca-Just wanted to leave you a note to tell you that all our friends and family here in WV are praying for Riley's health, quick recovery, wisdom for her specialists, grace and strength for you and your husband, and special heart knowledge for Ayden to understand everything.
I can remember how overwhelming it was when we first brought our Rylee home...overwhelming doesn't even begin to cover all the emotions.
Just as God reminded Elijah, He cannot be found in the craziness of worry and being busy...the wind, the earthquakes in our life...but rather in the quiet stillness. As you pray and wait in the quiet of the night, remember that joy always comes in the morning and that Riley is so very loved and God is using her in a mighty way-to teach and grow you two up in Him...and to show others His unfailing, unconditional love and all consuming grace.
