While in the hospital yesterday with Riley her Geneticist came to see us . . . He said that they did a full genetic mapping of Riley's DNA where they looked at her full genetic code and SHE HAS NO ABNORMALITIES!!!!!!! She does not have SMA, she does NOT have ANY genetic disorders!!!! Her DNA is perfect!!!!! She does not have a degenerative disease!!! He said that their best guess is that something happened while she was in the womb (maybe the umbilical cord got wrapped around her neck and then she kicked free) that did cause some neurological damage but she will more than likely not continue to get worse - there is actually hope for her to get better! She is still very sick and still dealing with everything we have been dealing with but HOPE has come back on the scene! We are no longer fighting against a degenerative disease instead it looks like we will be working to help her recover from a very serious injury. Now we are waiting for more test and more specialist to let us know where we go from here.
We are beyond amazed at God's mercy and faithfulness. Riley's case continues to baffle the doctors and we know it is because God is intricately at work in her life. We are so thankful and in awe of our GOD. Thank you all so much for your love and prayers. We can't wait how to see how God is going to continue to work in this situation and we are so amazed at how He has proved Himself so faithful over and over again.
Much Love,
Becca
PS - Please continue to pray for our fiances - with the change in diagnosis we will be unable to work with some of the agencies we have been working with and we fear it may be harder to get government funding as well. But even if I have to sell one of my kidneys and live in a shack I will take this news over government funding any day! ;) We love you all and are so blessed to be able to share our sorrows and our JOYS with so many incredible people.

"Our God is an AWESOME GOD, He reigns!" Thank you Jesus for your touch and work in Riley's life. And for the faithful servants you gave her to."
Turners, when I heard the news the other day, I wanted to run down the street praising God for His work in Riley's life. I am so excited that even as I read this report again, I get goose bumps! :o)
We will continue to pray that all will work together for good for those who seek the Lord-for if anyone has done this so FAITHFULLY, it is you all.
Love to you all! kristi shores
Praise GOD! Neither of you know me, but I attend Celebration church and I have been following Riley's journey nearly daily since I heard about her sickness. I am sitting in the airport, waiting to fly out of Jax and I realized that I had not checked the blog for a few days. I am now crying at the airport as I read about this amazing news! Before I knew about these tests results I was praying for each of your family members this morning...it is amazing how God works! I know the challenges are not over, but I am also confident that God will continue to reward your for seeking Him! Praise God and thank you for sharing your journey with me. Jennifer Wisnew
