The World We Live In

I don't think I have ever been so discouraged by the world and so encouraged by the church in any other time in my life. As many of you know Becca and I have been denied medicaid and basically every other type of government assistance that is out there. Apparently as a Middle School Youth Pastor I make to much money, which has to be the most absurd thing I have ever heard of. Don't get me wrong Celebration Church takes care of us, but when you go in to ministry you don't exactly go into it for the massive amounts of wealth that you could make. So, with our monthly bills reaching between 7,000-8,000 dollars Becca and I have been meeting with social workers, insurance people, and every other type of medical assistance programs out there. Well from everyone we get about the same thing YOU HAVE TO MANY ASSETS....once again ridiculous. However, we did get a bit of a advice from our insurance company and 2 social workers and that advice was GET A DIVORCE........I am not joking...Apparently if Becca and I were to get a divorce medicaid would step in and pay for Riley......are you kidding me that this is the state of our world that the only advice a family in need can get is get a freaking divorce....I have to tell you the devil has been working over time.

HOWEVER, there is hope and it is the CHURCH. I have experienced more love and compassion from people in the church than from anyone else. It is the easiest thing to see my friends who are not in the church maybe call once every three weeks to check in on my family and for the most part none of them have even seen Riley. The church however is amazing, how they have come around us and showered us with love, money and meals has been simply breath taking. Through working at Celebration Church I have had the honor of meeting some really cool bands and I decided to ask them if they would mind doing a benefit show for Riley and without hesitation they all immediately agreed. Between the Trees, Storyside B, and Fireflight you will never know how much you mean to me and my family thank you. To everyone else who has helped and is still helping I LOVE YOU you will never know what you have meant to us.

Thank you all for being the hands and feet of Christ.
Josh
