He is in the boat with us!

"Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!" -Matthew 8:23-27

There have been so many times during this whole situation when I have felt completely surrounded and upheld by God's love and His grace, but the majority of the time it is my faith that lets me know God is with us in this, not my feelings. When we look at the mountain of medical costs and all the wires & machines attached to our baby of course there are times we feel like yelling "Wake up Lord, save us! We are sinking". It is a daily decision for me to look at the storm and still rest beside Jesus instead of fearfully shouting for His help (and to be honest there are some days I do both). But I know that there is nothing in existence that he does not have the power over and on the days when I feel the need to point out my storm to Christ it is not the waves He rebukes and calms but me. You have to think that the disciples felt foolish after waking Jesus up, here they are a boat full of grown men that are fishermen who are always on the water freaking out, screaming that they are all about to die and Jesus (the carpenter of the bunch) just casually wakes us and tells the storm to hush! . . . so my hope is that even though our storm seems life threatening at times, I won't become fearful and look foolish because I know this situation is nothing for the Almighty God who is right beside me in the boat.

Love,
Becca

PS - Thank you for all your prayers and love. Please continue to pray for Riley, we are having a lot of issues with her vomiting which is really dangerous for her. We have a consult with a specialist on Monday but they are taking about having to do a pretty invasive surgery. Please pray that we can remedy this with out surgery.

Josh and Becca,

My wife and I read about Riley and we see her through the memories of our times in the hospital with our three premature children. Our youngest, Wyatt, was 7 weeks early and got to come home after 15 days in the NICU, although we had a heart/apnea monitor at home for over three months. All of our children are now doing amazing. Wyatt is 19 months old and climbing everything!

We just wanted to encourage you and pray that there are better times ahead for you all and Riley.

J & B,

We miss you guys and wanted you to know that you all are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. It is awesome to see how strong and firm you guys have remained even though know one really knows and/or can relate to exactly what you are going through. Just keep reminding yourself that "The point of your greatest weakness/struggle is God's greatest opportunity to show what he can do if you trust him!"
Just continue to put your trust in Him and look back at all those times in your life that He was right there....He's not going anywhere...believe that!

~ Love u guys!
