Kisses from a loving God

I have found that when things are going wrong most people want God to swoop in and save the day with a huge parting-the-red-sea kind of miracle (and He definitely still does that) but I have also found that looking for the BIG miracle will keep you from seeing the amazing little miracles that fill your day. Since we were told from the doctors that Riley would never get better she would only get worse, she now . . . .

swallows (occasionally),
follows you with her eyes,
puts her hand to her mouth,
gags,
sucks on a pacifier,
moves her back and her core,
turns her head from side to side,
has grown almost 4 inches and weighs almost 12lbs.,
smiles,
moves her arms more,
moves her legs more,
has more controlled movements with her hands,
will grasp your finger more tightly,
sticks out her tongue,
is alert when she is awake,
ALMOST ROLLED OVER the other day,
breaths on her own with out support,
responds to someone talking to her,
has a normal sleep pattern,
moves her eyebrows,
will grasp objects close to her,
and is home - healthy and out of the hospital

. . . these are all things we were told she would probably never do. I know that these may seem like normal everyday type things for a 4 mo. old baby to do but for us they are all miraculous events that we freak out over constantly. In light of all the He has done, how can we not live in awe and constant praise of our God! Even when we feel that this situation can't get any worse - God has shown us His faithfulness and love through these little kisses, these little miracles.

Please keep praying for miracles for Riley - big or small!

Love,
Becca
