Defining Moments
So my beautiful daughter is home today for the first time in her 2 months of life and I must say that it has been quite the day.......It has been very long and very stressful, and if you think driving on 95 is scary trying doing it when your child in the back just got realeased from intensive care......freaky man freaky.....It was just one of those days that made me wonder how the heck I was going to get through it.....it was one of those days where the mountain seems bigger than the maker......However, we know that in no circumstance ever is the mountain bigger than our maker....thats when we must as the Bible says take captive every thought......Although it did get me thinking about some people in the Bible and the moutains they faced....David faced a Giant, a bear, and a lion.....Meschach, Shadrach, and Abendego faced a fiery furnace.....Beniah killed 2 of Moabite's greatest warriors, a great Egyptian warrior, and then he chased a lion into a pit on a snowy day and killed it with his hand........Ester went to the king when she was not summoned (which was usually punished by death).....I say all of that to say this, all of their mountains became their defining moments......When David killed the lion and bear it was a defining moment that was preparing him for his most defining moment which was killing a giant......my boys that got thrown in the furnace were saved by Jesus which let to them getting a promotion and having a direct influence on the nation of Babylon for God.....Ester saved the entire nation of Israel.......Beniah was put in charge of King David's army...........Also, the thing to really notice is that there most defining moments were most likely their scariest......Beniah, Ester, David, the boys getting thrown into the furnace......all of those awful moments made them who they were.....it just got me thinking about Riley and the trials that we face as people, most of the time our prayers are so concerned with God getting us out of our trials tha we seldom realize what God is trying to do in us through our trials.....then what may I ask is the point if we are going through one of the worst moments in our life and not seeing what God is trying to show us.....I know that this is never what we want to hear, we want to hear that God will never let us expeirence pain and that he will crush our mounatins before our very eyes, but the fact is that that is not the case.....we are all going to face mountains, trials, sick daughters in the hospital, but the trick is not to pray for the trial to end, but to pray that God gives you wisdom and strength to endure it because most likely your worst moments will be your defining moments and take you one step closer to the person God has inteded and made you to be...........Go chase a lion

Hey guys I am Rachaels aunt from Ohio, wishing I was from Florida!! Its so great to listen to you guys write about Riley and how you are dealing with this great opportunity God has placed in your life. My first son was born with Duchennes MD and it all went so fast that I truly missed the opportunity. Satan so spun the whole thing in my eyes I spent most
of my time feeling sorry for my son and myself "a lot." But my son
was impacting his world even with out my help. My two oldest children learned compassion first hand. People loved him. What a mission statement I missed by not embrassing the gift in the way that you are. Hang in there it is a gift. There is a book out there by Dr. Paul Brand called "Pain the Gift Nobody Wants" I loved it because it talks about how cool people are that have experienced great pain. This episode in
your life already has set you apart for Gods great works.

I LOVE THIS! I want to catch a lion! I love your authenticity and openness with your lives. You didn't just write about embracing this "lion"--you included the stress of the day, the fear of I-95 first. It really authenticates the latter part of your blog and truly touches people as they read it. I am here with a "lion net" if you need anything! kristi shores
